Starting the New Year

Here we are again, and it seems that the time is whizzing past already. I didn’t make any New Year resolutions, but I did see someone else’s, which was that she intended to finish more things than she started. That really struck a chord with me, considering the huge pile of ‘stuff’ that currently resides in my workroom (aka back bedroom). So I thought I might hijack that and see if I could reduce the ‘stuff-pile’.

My first effort this month was another little landscape made from scraps. This was my entry for the Monthly art project, and will be a theme for my monthly entries for the rest of the year. I hoped it may make a dent in my scrap bag, but it only ever seems to get bigger rather than smaller.

I’m working on another little landscape for next month, so at least I’ll have something to show you then!

Remembering the ‘resolution’ I raided one of the other piles of things in the ‘workroom’ – the Unfinished Objects pile. I found a piece made from hexagons that I had intended to make into a cushion. My original idea was to have a main section of large hexagons, and a side section with smaller hexagons, though I hadn’t really worked out the idea fully (which is probably why it never got finished). So this is the piece I tackled, and I’m happy to say it got finished – yay!!

Now my next task will be to find another piece in one of the piles, to tackle next – watch this space!!
